Guided full-day hike through the Bovški Gamsovec for €95 per person.

If there is one hike that truly reveals the grandeur of Slovenia’s mountains, it is the journey to Bovški Gamsovec.

This adventure is perfect for hikers who seek the wild, rugged, and less-traveled corners of the Julian Alps. We begin in the beautiful Vrata Valley, where the towering north face of Triglav provides one of the most spectacular backdrops in Slovenia from the very first steps.

Following the trail through Sovatna Valley, we gradually enter the high-alpine world. With every step, the views become more dramatic as rocky peaks, deep valleys, and untouched mountain landscapes unfold around us. Along the way, we stop at Pogačnik Lodge on Kriški Podi for a well-deserved break and a warm meal.

The route continues towards Bovška Luknja, one of the most scenic mountain passes in the Julian Alps. Here, breathtaking views of surrounding ridges and towering peaks create the feeling of standing in the heart of a vast natural alpine amphitheater.

Our return follows the path beneath Triglav’s magnificent north face, accompanied by the crystal-clear waters of the Triglav Bistrica River as we make our way back to Aljaž Lodge in the Vrata Valley. It is the perfect ending to an unforgettable day immersed in the beauty and wilderness of Slovenia’s highest mountains.
